Canon unveiled this new AE-1 Program camera in 1981 as the successor of the widely popular AE-1. The AE-1 Program, just like his little brother, the AE-1, offers a straight forward and enjoyable user experience in a lightweight package with the addition of the highly demanded auto-exposure mode which sets the aperture and the speed for you. All you have to do is press the shutter. If you want a more manual experience just use your camera in fully manual mode. That paired with accurate through-the-lens metering lets you take control on how you want to take your pictures.
