Overview:

The new Hasselblad camera has gained a reputation over the years for its robustness, mechanical accuracy and for having a wide range of high-quality lenses, making it the medium-format camera of choice for generations of professional photographers. Victor Hasselblad AB reinforced this reputation by making the most of the fact that their camera had been chosen by NASA for use in space, although not without modifications.

For the 500 series the maximum shutter speed is limited to 1/500th of a second. Depth of field is supported on the lens barrel as well. All lenses will stop down to at least f/22 with some expanding to f/32. One may be available that stops down to f/45. The shutter is an internal blade design. The lenses for the 500 series do not appear to suffer from the internal scratching that may occur on the 900 series lenses. Flash sync is available through the lens PC Sync at all shutter speeds. Read more.
