Mamiya ZM 35mm SLR Camera with Mamiya-Sekor 50mm f/1.7 S Lens
All cameras sold by FIlmNeverDie come with six months warranty.
Please note that this camera in particular has an issue with the timing of the shutter. The camera fires at the correct shutter speed when set to automatic. However, it will fire at the speed 'above' that written on the dial for any option other than auto, essentially at double the speed expected. For example, if set to 'B', the camera will instead fire at 2 seconds, if set at 2s, the camera shutter will fire at 1s, etc. This means that if the shutter speed is set manually, aside from 1/1000s, each image will be underexposed by a stop if not manually corrected. The lens has a small speck of dust/fungus in the front-center elements, but does not appear to have any impact on images - this camera has been fully film tested.
Included in this kit:
1) Mamiya ZM 35mm SLR Body
2) Mamiya-Sekor 50mm f/1.7 Lens
4) Generic/Basic Strap
Mamiya may be more well known for its truly legendary medium format behemoths, like the M645, RB67, RZ67 and the Mamiya 7. But before the mid 1980s, after which they decided to focus solely on medium format, they also made a huge range of 35mm SLR cameras and in its earlier days rangefinders as well.
The Mamiya ZM is the very last SLR designed by Mamiya that was released to the public, and was designed by the same man behind the Mamiya 645 Super and Mamiya RZ67. Featuring an electronically controlled vertical plane metal shutter, the camera has a maximum shutter speed of 1/1000s, and offers both fully manual and aperture priority modes. Despite being made in the 80s, the camera features a very forward-thinking ergonomic right-hand grip. The camera has a smooth, satisfying film advance action and shutter actuation, and paired with a flexible 50mm f/1.7 lens is a joy to use in many scenarios, from landscapes to portraits and anything in between!
Please note that this camera does have an issue with the shutter speed being double that expected. However, there is no issue when the camera is set to automatic.
