1) Minolta AF-S Quartz Date 35mm Point & Shoot Camera
Description:
A compact autofocus camera released around 1984, the Minolta AF-S is basically an AF-Sv (Talker) without the voice chip (or the other way around), with the other difference being a blue line on the right side instead of a red line. Having an integrated flash, it is slightly larger than the ultra-compact AF-C with its flash attached. The lens is a 35 mm ƒ/2,8. The built-in pop-up flash is manually activated using a slider on the back. Film speed is set manually using a ring around the lens. A self-timer on the front is its only additional feature. The lens barrier sits flush with the body, covering up both the viewfinder, the lens and the AF windows, while pushing in a small switch that deactivates the shutter release.
A year after release, the AF-S (and its speaking brethren) was redesigned, borrowing cues from the Minolta AF-Z and replacing the old, big lens barrier with a more run-of-the-mill lens cap, in the process moving the miniscule deactivation button to the side of the lens so that it was pushed in by the cap, and moving the self timer slider down to the front face.
A version with a quartz date back was also sold.

Thanks for all your support in 2024! 🙏
As we welcome 2025, we’re gearing up for something exciting—a Shot on Nana exhibition, likely happening mid-year.
As a wise person once said, “The proof is in the pudding.” This is our chance to come together and show the world what’s possible with the tiny yet mighty Nana camera! 📸
Curious about its image quality? Check out some decent results from our recent photowalk here (scroll to the bottom for the photos, in black-and-white).
If you already have a Nana camera, it’s time to get shooting! If you’d like to grab one, you can find it here.
Until then, remember:
Stay Positive, Shoot Negative. 🖤
