Pentax 6x7 Mirror Lock-Up (Generation 2) Medium Format SLR Camera with Super Takumar 105mm f/2.8 Lens

All cameras come with six months warranty. Note that the metered prism only works when the lens is stopped down manually, but does provide the correct reading. This camera has been recently serviced, with shutter speeds accurate and mirror moving with no issues.

Included in this kit:
1) Asahi Pentax 6x7 Medium Format SLR Body, S/N: 4128470
2) Asahi Pentax 6x7 TTL Pentaprism Finder, S/N: 590705
3) Asahi Optical Company Super-Takumar/6x7 105mm f/2.4 Lens, S/N: 3786907
4) Asahi Pentax 6x7 Lens Cap

Did you ever think that something was missing about the common 35mm SLR camera, and its accompanying format? More specifically, the size? Pentax clearly thought that too, when in 1969 they launched an absurdly large SLR camera that looked a lot like a black painted Spotmatic on steroids called the Asahi Pentax 6x7, and we are grateful they did!

The Pentax 6x7 is an iconic camera with an incredible set of accompanying lenses that are full of character. Heck, this particular kit has the legendary 105mm f/2.4 lens, i.e., THE lens to get for this system, which features thoriated glass - giving it a slight warm tone, making for lovely portraits. The lens' focal length is roughly equivalent to a versatile 52mm lens on 35mm format, but at an incredibly-fast-for-medium-format aperture of f/2.4.

This particular model is a second generation 6x7, with the mirror lock up feature - handy for longer exposures or studio situations where you need to make sure the mirror sits still.

This particular camera body unfortunately is missing the aperture chain which links the metering prism to the lens aperture for exposure calculations. This means that when the lens is set to 'Automatic' mode, the prism does not 'know' the actual aperture. When set to 'Manual' where the lens stops down as the aperture is adjusted, the prism reads correctly. The camera is mechanically perfect otherwise, and has had a recent service.
