Policy Update For Negative Storage - Now Holding For Only 1 Week!

Importart update for our customers regarding negative storage policy!

Fun fact: did you know that 60% of our customers that want to keep negative don't come back to get them?

Key Points

  • New sleeve-on-demand system
  • Negatives held 1 week after scans are delivered
  • Customers choose: sleeved / cut & sleeved / unsleeved
  • Focus on reducing plastic waste and being eco-friendly
  • Option to extend holding time upon request
  • Postal return available if needed
  • We’re updating our negative handling policy!

Going forward, we’re introducing a sleeve-on-demand system, and negatives will be held in-store for 1 week after you receive your scans. When collecting your negatives, you can choose whether you’d like them sleeved, cut and sleeved, or left as is.

At FilmNeverDie, we’re committed to being environmentally conscious. This new system helps reduce waste by using less plastic sleeving—ensuring nothing goes unused, not to mentioned the time it takes to sleeve them.

Can’t pick up your negatives in a week time? No worries—just let us know if you need an extended hold. We can also arrange to have your negatives posted back to you upon request, with just a small fee.

At FilmNeverDie, our team has just begun to trial a new negative handling and sleeving policy! Some key changes to our system to take note of include:

  • Why we’re introducing a new system & minimising waste
  • How long we’re holding your negatives
  • Sleeving, no sleeving, and uncut negatives
  • How we’re saving resources in our mission to be environmentally conscious

How long we’re holding your negatives.

What's new? In our new system, we’ll be holding your negatives for 1 week after you've received your scans, or for develop only orders, 1 week after your film has been developed. So, come pick them up! Organise a time in your week to come into the city and pick up your negatives – maybe even buy a new roll of film while you're there 👀.

So, what's with the new system?

Did you know only 40% of customers who chose to keep their negatives actually pick them up? That's less than half! This causes us unnecessary clutter, hours of work organising and sleeving gone to waste, excess use of plastic, and wear-and-tear on our sleeving machine. So, we've decided to change things up and trial a new system to minimise waste.

Can't make it in a week? No stress! We encourage you to come and pick up your negatives within the week, but we can make an exception and hold them longer upon request, just let us know when you drop off your film, and we’ll make note of it.

Sleeving vs no sleeving, and uncut film.

Now with our new system, when picking up your negatives you'll be given the opportunity to choose if you'd like your film to be sleeved, cut and sleeved, or left as is. This reduces the  waste of sleeving plastic and strain on our sleeving machine, as well as giving you more options on how you would like your negatives upon receiving your scans.

How we’re saving resources.

At FilmNeverDie, we strive for environmentally conscious and an eco-friendly business model. With our new system, we’ll be using less plastic sleeving as none of it will be going to waste anymore. We will also have less strain on our sleeving machine, resulting in less wear-and-tear so we can continue sleeving your negatives!

Yes, we can still post your negatives back to you!

Do not fear! You’ll still have the option of getting your negatives posted back to you in the mail if that's what you'd like. In fact, if you aren't able to come into the store often we would recommend you choose to get your negatives mailed back to you so you don't have to worry about coming back in a week.

You got 1 week after getting your scans

At least for Gary, it will help him to think about schedulling a time next week to come pick up after excitedly seeing the photos on the app or gallery link, create a sense of urgency, reduce wastage. Can't make it in one week, no worries, let us know when you drop off or email us to extend the keep negative period.
