Setting the record straight: a note from Gary Wong

A note from Gary Wong, Founder of FilmNeverDie

I’ve seen some posts circulating online regarding our Birchal crowdfunding offer, and I want to address it directly.

First and foremost: everything disclosed in our offer document is factual, open, and prepared in accordance with Birchal’s regulatory requirements. The financial position of the business, including our liabilities, our debts, and our current cash position, is disclosed in full in the offer document. This is not a situation where information has been hidden. Crowd-sourced funding regulations exist precisely to ensure that investors have access to this information before making a decision. Ours is no different.

Running a small business is hard. We have debts. We have tax obligations. We have equipment finance arrangements. None of that is unusual for a 15-year-old business that has been investing in growth. What is unusual is that we chose to share all of it transparently with the people we’re asking to invest, because we believe investors deserve to make informed decisions, which is exactly what the offer document is designed to provide.

The suggestion that we are “using the community to pay off debts” is not a fair characterisation of what this raise is for. The use of funds is clearly outlined in my founder’s letter within the offer document. We are raising to expand lab capacity, open a second site, and launch in Japan. That is what the money is for.

I want to be clear: I welcome scrutiny. If anyone has questions about the offer document, the financials, or any of the concerns raised, please reach out to me directly. I’m happy to have that conversation. That’s always been how we operate.

Rather than relying on one-sided claims, I’d encourage anyone with concerns to read the offer document in full.

The full offer document is publicly available here: https://www.birchal.com/company/filmneverdie

To anyone considering investing, please read it. All of it. Ask questions. Make an informed decision. That’s exactly what we want you to do.
