What is a Photowalk?

A photowalk is a group photography event where participants walk through designated routes, exploring new locations while capturing unique moments on film. At FilmNeverDie, we take this experience a step further by providing you with film, cameras to test, and expert tips from seasoned photographers in our community.

Photowalk FAQs

Do I need to bring my own camera?
While we encourage you to bring your own camera, we often have loaner cameras available. No camera? No problem—just let us know!

What if I’m new to film photography?
Our photowalks are beginner-friendly! We provide film, and our team is always available to offer tips and guidance throughout the walk.

Do I need prior experience in photography to join?
No experience is necessary! Our photowalks are perfect for all skill levels. Our team and community are happy to help you get the best out of your shots, whether you're a beginner or a pro.

How many people usually attend the photowalks?
Group sizes vary, but we typically have between 10-20 participants. This keeps the group intimate and allows for plenty of interaction with fellow photographers and our team.

What should I wear or bring to a photowalk?
Comfortable shoes are a must, as we'll be walking for a few hours. Bring weather-appropriate clothing, a bag for your camera gear, and any extra rolls of film you’d like to shoot.

What happens if the weather is bad?
We aim to continue our photowalks rain or shine, but in the event of severe weather, we'll notify participants of any changes or postponements via email or social media.

Is there a cost to join the photowalk?
Most of our photowalks are free to join, and participants receive a complimentary roll of film and free film development and scanning. However, some special events may have a small fee to cover additional perks like workshops or exclusive gear access.

Can I get feedback on my photos?
Absolutely! After the photowalk, we encourage participants to share their images with the group. Our team and community members are happy to provide constructive feedback and celebrate your work.

Recent Walks

Our most recent walk was an epic adventure with Pentax Australia and Ilford Imaging. This walk was kindly sponsored by them both, and each attendee received a roll of Ilfordcolor 400 and we had several of the brand new Pentax 17 cameras available for everyone to try! Plus a free dev and scan from us! Thank you to Ilford Imaging and Pentax Australia for their support.
