Description:

The Olympus OM-2N is the Om1’s successor. It features a fully electronic shutter with a built in aperture priority mode. The Om2 has a double light metering system. On top of the two Cds sells giving the exposure information in auto and manual mode it also has two SBC sensors controlling the exposure in automatic mode. The possibility to shoot in automatic mode on top of the beautiful and compact Olympus design is why a lot of people love this camera this camera so much.

The first reason you should get an Olympus OM-2N (Or any Olympus Om camera is this case) is for its wide array of accessories and beautiful Zuiko lenses. When the Om1 was introduced in 1972 it had already over 30 lenses and many more accessories available for it that are of course also compatible with the OM2. The Zuiko lenses are amongst the sharpest available on the market and just like the camera itself are for the most part very compact compared to equivalent lenses from other manufacturers.


Focusing is done manually. The viewfinder is one of the biggest and brightest available on the market (Thank you Olympus!).


Design wise the OM-2N is a truly beautiful and unique camera. It was designed by the equally legendary Yoshihisa Maitani, creator of the Olympus Pen and Pen F design. It stands amongst the smallest SLR cameras ever made. It also ranked as one of the sturdiest cameras of its type. The winder and shutter and this cameras both feel really good. The shutter-speed selector is, unlike most SLR positioned on the front of the camera making it easy to adjust the speed and aperture all at one go.

If you’re looking to invest in a new camera (and thus system) the OM-2N could be a perfect match. Like all OM cameras, the OM-2N gives you to access a breathtaking array of lenses, as well as a host of interesting and useful accessories.
This particular OM-2N also features the Recordata Back 3 which replaces the standard back to imprint the date or the time directly on the film.
